First Fall Craft!! Yarn Wreath

I'm so darn giddy today that it was in the
60's in the morning that ALL DAY LONG
I WAS IN A FALLISH MOOD!
If you haven't been keeping up with the news
then you don't know that for the past oooh, say 70 days!! Here in Texas we've been hitting the 100 degree mark every.single.stinking.day.
Yessirree bob.
So today. You bet your sweet pattootee
we're celebrating.
And today I didn't put away the laundry because I was too busy making this

It's a straw wreath wrapped in yarn!!

I totally enjoyed neglecting my motherly/wifely responsibilities and sat by the window and happily and lazily wrapped and wrapped the yarn. Note to self and to you: buy the THICK yarn next time. Makes for an easier craft!!!
I then just made ruffles out of brown felt I had and some pretty fabric I got on clearance.
I used ribbon and and old orange t-shirt for the flowers and ta-da a FALL wreath. I also wrapped some orange ribbon where the bald spots were on the wreath.
The tags were made by decoupaging the phrases that I printed off on my printer onto wooden tags I've had forever. Now wasn't that so much funner than folding laundry?
Meh, the kids can hunt for their underwear in the laundry basket for one week. It won't kill 'em.

  1. That is so beautiful Patty! I love the ruffles on it and I'm with you...the kids can just dig around the basket for their underwear. LOL! Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Inspiration Friday this week!
