Cute Summer Outfits for Women Over 50

Cute Summer Outfits for Women Over 50 I am of the opinion that women can wear whatever they want! Women can look great by wearing what fits them best. You can take any well fitting garment and rock it! Here are a few of my favorite looks I am wearing this summer.  The first outfit is an all black number.  This is very comfortable and can take you from the office to dinner and drinks. The top is a cute sleeveless with a zipper. It is stretchy in the back and I received this from Stitch Fix. Funny, I had it in a drawer and hadn't worn it at all since I got it last year! The pants are paper bag style top from Banana Republic. The cute espadrilles are from Candie's Shoes.  I paired this outfit with a Kate Spade clutch/crossbody  I am also wearing a Kate Spade bracelet Here I switch things up and I pair the same pants with a white top from Temu. This was my first time ordering from that website/app and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the items I received a

My Take on Huevos Rancheros-Yummy Brunch Ideas

My Take On Huevos Rancheros  A Yummy Brunch Idea Huevos rancheros are a delicious Mexican breakfast dish. This morning I decided to make them a bit different-served on a tostada.  The ingredients you see here are for a serving for two people with plenty of pico left over :) Double or triple the ingredients as you see fit to feed your family. I promise you this will become a fave at your house as well. Ingredients: pickled jalapenos  tostadas  one bunch of cilantro two roma tomatoes  2-3 limes one medium onion one 16 oz. can refried beans  and 4 medium eggs salt to taste Optional: Queso fresco and fresh avocado slices First you will need to prepare the pico de gallo. A short note on the pico-it is a fresh "salsa" from Mexico (I am Mexican) that contains onion, tomato, cilantro, lime and salt. In our home we like our pico "wet" which means it has lots of lime juice. The lime juice deliciously "marries" all the flavors due to the citric acid. Try it and you w

Sprucing Up the Patio - DIY Pillow Covers

Sprucing Up the Patio DIY Pillow Covers When it comes to DIY, I try to cut corners and save money whenever and however I can. Recently, we had to replace our bed cover after a certain puppy chewed up the edges. 🙄 I really like our bedspread because it’s just the right weight-not too hot. This is the bedspread we have: here I ordered the bedspread and completely forgot that it comes with two matching sham covers. So now I found myself with 4 shams. What was I to do? I certainly did not want to throw them away. I remembered that my two throw pillows that I have on my patio chairs became discolored when I had them out on my previous uncovered patio.  I decided to make pillow covers for those two pillows with the extra shams I had! First I gathered my materials: The two extra shams (why buy fabric right?) **Fabric scissors, parchment paper of piece of cardboard, vinyl gloves, toothpick/brush, fabric glue (I had on hand) and a pretty ribbon that would go with a nautical theme** One of

Puerto Rico Vacation

Puerto Rico Family Vacation So many things have transpired since I last blogged here, but I'll share all that with you all in the next post.  This post is all about our amazing trip to San Juan and Rincon, Puerto Rico. I had been on the fence about where to go for our family vacation, thinking that going to Isla Mujeres in Mexico would be a great idea, then figuring it would take too long to get our passports in time for our trip, we finally decided on Puerto Rico! It is a short 5 hour flight from DFW and we could only find non-stop flights on Frontier. I was a bit leery of booking our flights with Frontier since I've heard horror stories, but we bit the bullet and booked the flights. I gotta say, the entire process was seamless! No issues whatsoever. I had plenty of leg room, we paid extra to board first and choose our seats. We did check a bag and we had no problems with that either. I guess it pays off to read and re-read all their website to make sure we check in on the app
