Summer=Friends and Fun

This past weekend our good friend Tonya invited us over to a cookout and swimming at her beautiful home. I tell ya this girl's backyard is like a resort! The kids had fun swimming and eating and just relaxing and chatting. It was a beautiful sunny day and she also invited another family from our church. It's just wonderful to make new friends. Tonya is a really funny and unique lady (HA) she keeps me laughing with her views on life and her lighthearted views of the world. I like her because she keeps it REAL. We also had fun playing with her new dog Carson-who, as I tell Tonya should have his own show!! Sergio and I decided that at our next house we will definitely have a pool. In Texas a pool is a must. Oh, I also got a much needed haircut and I feel tons lighter!! Sergio picked out a new haircolor for me that I absolutely love!! He has such good taste :) After the fun at Tonya's we went to see Toy Story 3. It was delightful. We went to the late show which our boys

Summer and Swimming

What's summertime without swimming? As a child we loved to go to the pool or just splash around in my back yard across the sprinklers or play under the water "arc" my mom made with the hose spray :) So on Saturday morning I packed up the boys and headed to the neighborhood pool. This neighborhood pool is pretty snazzy. It's got a splash pad and sand! Aaron likes to play in the sand and build "cities". This time we took Josh's friend Alex. I just  relaxed under a tree and later joined Aaron in his "city building". It's a nice way to relax. It gets a little hot in Texas. It got up to 100 degrees on this day (yikes) but we like to get to the pool right when they open. Afterwards, we went home and took our showers. We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday since Sunday is the Sabbath for us. We took Sergio to one of his favorite eateries in Dallas-Shuck N'Jive. They serve some of the best blackened chicken Po Boys we've ever had.

Summertime=Ice Cream Dripping down your arm

What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than to heading out to Braum's for some ice cream? I had this great idea and me and the boys headed down there. I was craving some REALLY bad. And since I have gone vegetarian (not vegan anymore) I could spoil myself in this luxury this one time. What is Braum's you ask? Weeeelllll let me tell you my northern friends (and those of you too lame to not have a Braum's in your town hee hee) It is THE BEST ICE CREAM EVER!! 'Till I moved to the Dallas area I had never heard of Braum's. It was such a treat to finally get to try some some 22 years ago when Sergio got a job there while in college. It was the BEST JOB EVER SINCE WE GOT FREE ICE CREAM :)) But wait there's more! They also have a little restaurant where they serve some of the best burgers and chicken sandwiches (especially the grilled chicken sandwich with jalapenos) So if you are ever in the area stop by and enjoy some. My favorite flavor is Mint Chocolat

I'm bored without my brother

This is what I hear from Aaron everyday. Poor little guy loves his big brother SO much but he is away at Scout Camp all week. Aaron sits bored for hours without his pal. So tonight I decided we were going to the mall. This kid loves to window shop (just like his dad) I had heard that the mall had a new LEGO store and we went to check it out. He had so much fun playing with all the pieces and ooohhhhing and aaaahhing at the Star Wars models and I promised him some of those for his birthday and Christmas. He picked out a really cool Airplane set and we joined their VIP club. I know we'll be back. After, we headed over to Auntie Anne's pretzels, Sergio's favorite. No trip to the mall would be complete without him getting his two pretzels. I passed this time. But I told them that since they had their favorites, now it was time for me to drool over some pretty things too. While they sat and ate their pretzels and drank their cokes I sauntered into ---POTTERY BARN!! I.Love.This.P

Summertime=Graduation Time!

The day is finally here: Graduation Day for my sweetheart Ellison :) It took every ounce of strength for me to get up and go to her commencement because earlier in the week I contracted STREP!!! AGGHHH!! I kept praying that I'd get better by Friday because I wasn't going to miss this for the world! So Tuesday night I started to feel very weak and shaky. I don't know how I made it home from work that night but I got to my bed and collapsed. Two hours later I woke up with jagged glass in my throat! Or so I thought. I kept thinking I'll call the Dr. in the morning. But a little voice inside my head (don't you love that little voice?) said go to the Urgent Care Clinic NOW! So I stumbled out of bed and told Sergio to take me (don't you love it even more when you actually follow that little voice inside your head?) So after a quick examination the DR. says it's not the flu (thank the LORD) but he says "You have Strep". The room starts to spin and I let o
