Foodie Friday #1 Dark Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

Who likes to eat cookie dough?
((raises hands))
If you're like me, you do some serious
taste testing when baking cookies ;)
But the raw eggs are not so good.
Well I invite you to try my very own
dark chocolate chip cookie dough brownies!
You can eat all the cookie dough you want-
No RAW EGGS!
All you need is a few
and a few hungry kidlets (count yourself)!

Here's the how to:

Prep time 30 minutes + cooling time

Cook time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

Brownie:

4 oz. unsweetened cocoa powder (for cakelike brownies) OR
4 oz. finely shredded unsweetened chocolate, melted (for fudgy brownies)

1 c butter, room temp.

2 c brown sugar, packed

4 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 c all purpose flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Spray 10X7 inch pan with non-stick spray.

In large mixing bowl, mix butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. Mix in cocoa powder OR melted chocolate. Blend in flour and mix but don’t over mix. Spread batter into pan. Bake 25-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Do not overbake. Cool completely.

Cookie Dough Mix

¾ c butter room temp

¾ c brown sugar, packed

¾ c granulated white sugar

3 Tablespoons milk (add more if your dough is too crumbly)

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup all purpose flour

1 c dark chocolate chips

In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to combine butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Mix in milk and vanilla. Mix in flour just until combined. Stir in dark chocolate chips.

Use your hands to knead the dough and mix in the chocolate chips thoroughly.

After brownies cool in the pan, spread the cookie dough mix onto the top of the brownies using a spatula or your hands.

Place the pan in the fridge or freezer for 10-20 minutes.

½ c dark chocolate chips melted: Drizzle melted dark chocolate by using a plastic baggie with one corner snipped.

Use a sharp knife to cut into square while it still cold. Serve with vanilla ice cream 

Enjoy your weekend!
