Happy New Year! {And A Very Late Christmas Post}

Happy New Year everyone!
I am back. Sheesh...that was a busy two weeks.
I'm glad the holidays are over!
I don't want to seem like the grinch but that was exhausting.
Speaking of Grinch my daughter gave me a pair of pajama pants with the Grinch graphic all over them and I just busted out laughing I love them so much :)
What can I say the girl gets me!

I have been so busy with friends and family that I haven't had time to blog at all!
That, plus the photography biz is booming. Which is NOT a bad thing. I'll have to tell you all about it later.
I am planning some BIG changes to my life later on this year.
And they involve taking lots of pictures (hint, hint)
Anywho, since I didn't have a chance to post any of my Christmas decor pics I'll go ahead and post them now.
I know, I know, it's past Christmas but it's my way of journaling what I did this past year and how I decorated my trees, etc.
So here it goes:
First I took my $5 white tree and did a Grinch theme. I cut out some printouts of the Grinch movie and then laminated them and taped a ribbon and hung them from the tree. I decided to use red and green mostly for it and I loved the way it turned out!
Here's a picture of one of the cut outs. You can see how I taped the ribbon to the back. But from far away you can't really see the ribbon on the back just the picture. I also bought some green curled ribbon you know the type you buy to put on top of presents or gift bags. I got them on clearance and decided to use them as filler and hang them on the tree as well.
I also did a vignette with an old typewriter and a letter to Santa on one of my ledges. The Santa print out is from Anders-Ruff and the letter to Santa is from the TomKat studio. I absolutely love all their graphic art and I purchase them to use again and again :)

My little guy and I finally finished our gingerbread cottage :)

This little wicker and raffia nativity makes me smile
And here's the white tree in all it's glory!! I even bought a real deer antler to put up at the top. I don't know if you can see it but it's kinda next to the cut out of the Grinch.
I had so much fun decorating my home for Christmas.
But the most rewarding time was on Christmas eve. Not for the presents, but for the nice dinner we had with friends and family. My 81 year old grandmother traveled all the way from South Texas to be with us and my Aunt with her as well.
We had a great time staying up late, laughing, and cooking together. And that's what Christmas is all about.
And so the Grinch did not steal Christmas at the Martinez household.
