Since I am out of town on business and am tired of working on the budget and walking around outside seeing the bums ;) I have been perusing my stored pics on my laptop and came across these gems:
These pics are from my old house and I originally designed/decorated in 1999-2002. I wish I could still paint murals in my kids' rooms but they don't seem to be too excited about that anymore :(
Here's one of my favorites~
This room was designed when I was expecting my 3rd child and I wanted to have a "coloring book road theme". I wanted the cars and clouds, etc to look cartoonish as if a child had drawn them on the walls. Since I was huge by the time we started painting the mural, my hubby painted a lot of this. But I designed it. My husband also hand crafted my baby's toddler bed Jeep you see here. He made it all by hand including hand carving the wheels out of wood!! I tell you he's a VERY talented guy. This bed is solid. And eventhough my little guy is not so little anymore we are keeping it for our grandkids!
Here you see a shot of the brick facade "garage" doors. We wanted their walls to depict an old time garage with weathered doors (the closet) and faux finish on the top of the walls. Sergio bought the brick facade panels at Lowe's I think and just nailed them to the walls. The boys really enjoyed playing in this room.
I asked Sergio to make me a metal sign that had the boys' initials and he hand carved one of out wood then spray painted it to look like metal. We still have this sign :)
We were sad when we sold the house and wonder if the new owners kept this room or destroyed it :(
Here are some pics of a room makeover I did for my mom while she was away on Thanksgiving weekend about 8 years ago:
I stenciled all the flowers around the wall and bought the bedspread at Garden Ridge for $15!!
Another shot of my mom's room. Notice the storage box. Sergio made it (of course) so my mom could store all her fabrics (she is a fantastic seamstress)
And last but not least, some shots of my formal living room, old bedroom and master bath:
I LOVED this red bath! It took me FOREVER to paint it!
How 'bout you? Do you have some past or present decorating projects? I'd love to see them. Leave me your link in the comments section.
