Today is officially Spring! Hurray! No matter that we have been swamped (literally) with rain. Don't worry about the flash flood warnings! Finding Life Long Friends

My memories of childhood include me running around with my cousins and friends on a sunny Summer morning. We planned the day's activities basing ourselves on the number of kids we could round up to play a good game of softball. I remember us splashing around in the puddles across the street and skateboarding down steep hills at the local laundromat :) When I see my children today, I wish they had these memories of childhood when they grow up. But with all the electronics available, sadly most kids, including mine, don't go out to play very much. Gone are the days of running around carefree and footloose through the neighborhood.  Going from house to house, knocking on friends' doors to see if they want to come out to play.  I remember and I smile. Make Your Own Chalk Paint Project {Goodwill Frame}

Well here we are at the end of another fun filled week ;) Our Spring Break is winding down to a close much to the chagrin of my kids (and myself).  But while we're still here, I tried to squeeze out every ounce of fun possible. I took the boys out to scour the antique shops , again, for photo props and cool vintage things. I'll leave that post for tomorrow. But today I was so psyched, what with this gorgeous 80 degree weather and my feeling extra energetic, well I just thought I'd throw in a little project for ya. So I decided to make my own chalk paint tonight :) It is super easy.  But let me tell you, you must mix/shake the  paint for a good 3-5 minutes so that the grout can really mix with the paint. Ready? Thankful Thursdays {A Child's Heart}

Many times I ask myself, "What will I do when my youngest guy grows up?"  I am afraid of not having a small child around to love on and kiss on constantly :) Yesterday I got off work early. I picked up my older son from our church's Pioneer Trek and brought him home {that amazing experience post will come up soon} Then my little guy and I, ran around doing some errands. Coming back, I decided to wind down through another neighborhood just up the road from us. I pointed to my little guy different cool areas that I could use for  photoshoots. On our way out of the neighborhood, my little guy says, "Stop. Look at that beautiful lake. Maybe we can stop there for a minute." And for one fleeting moment, I almost told him "No. We don't have time. We need to get home and get dinner ready. Etc, etc." But I caught myself and didn't. If you're like me you blog surf. A lot.  And what with the advent of Pinterest, well, we have sooo much more to look at, right? And even though there are thousands upon thousands of blogs, I find myself going back to a chosen few because frankly my brain desires them. It's like my eyes crave them. Thankful Thursdays-Uncovering Your Hidden Talents

Yesterday my daughter and I attended a cute little play at my little guy's school.  It was a take on the story of Rumpelstiltskin with a modern twist. The kids did a fantastic job.  And of course, being the biased audience member that I am, I especially thought this guy did the best job of all ;) He played the main character Rumpel. A PR guy who has the queen sign over her first born child in exchange for riches. I tell you my little guy had the audience in stitches! But I digress. You see, for some time now, my son, who is 9 years old, has been in a self esteem rut.  What with being the youngest of three children and having super talented older siblings, well the kid thought he didn't catch a break when talent was being handed out in heaven.
