Stylish Looks for Spring- Wood Watches

JORD watches* sponsored post Unique Timepieces for a lifetime It’s spring! We have some beautiful weather here in the Dallas area and we are so thankful for it! I’ll be posting some cute Spring outfits in the next coming days. And with cute outfits comes the need to accessorize. I love accessories. They are crucial in putting an outfit together. I like bracelets, earrings, a cute hat and even a simple piece like a watch. The nice people at JORD watches sent me a beautiful watch to wear and share with you guys! I’ll be posting some shots on my IG with me wearing it :) I picked the beautiful style called Cora Polaris. Three years of imagination & painstaking design have led to a new, classy, more beautiful alteration of the celebrated Cora Collection. Hand-seated Swarovski crystals encircle the vibrant 34mm dial to depict the stars of the Little Dipper. Polaris shines brightly in the northern sky, to guide you through each hour of the day. And beautifully polished metals...

Dallas Acting and Film Making School

School is almost out! Can you believe that?  Before you know it there won't be the morning rush we are all experiencing right now. Just the mellow pace of summer. Ahhh....can you feel it? :) I love waking up without an alarm clock and just taking it easy on certain days when I can work from home. As a working, single, mom I treasure these last few days I have with my baby...even if he will be 17 soon!  One thing we are both looking forward to is his summer acting camp. This year he will be doing two weeks instead of one. These are actual TV pilots shot on a soundstage in Dallas. You've heard me talk up the acting school before but I'm here to share that there is a film making division too. That's right. Right here in Dallas. If you're son or daughter is interested in becoming a professional camera man, being part of a film production crew in Hollywood or anywhere else, this is the place to send them! I am impressed with the level of professionalism these kids...

Countdown to Summer Camp and TV Pilot - Hollywood

Happy Easter everyone!  It's been a super busy week with work, school and other activities.  Aaron is busy prepping for several scripts they are learning at Dallas Young Actors Studio. He's excited to be in the TV Pilot this summer. The Rising Stars Summer Camp over at his acting school  www.dallasyas.com  is an awesome opportunity for any aspiring actor to get the professional training needed for their break into Hollywood. So many young actors have been successfully signed from the Dallas YAS school, it's unreal!  You can check out the website above to read all about those success stories.  But it's not all luck! There's hard work and training involved in becoming a professional TV/film actor. Think SNL on a local level. At Dallas YAS, students get that professional training from someone who is actually in the business of ..well...showbiz!  You can read more about the school's founder here in this article at  Voyage Dalla...

Road to Becoming a Professional Actor

Hello everyone! I hope you've had a great week. We've been having some beautiful weather here in the Dallas area, let's hope it lasts!  Last week I talked about how my son, Aaron, has had a dream of being a professional actor since the age of 5.  And how we came across this magnificent school that he now attends. The Dallas Young Actors School trains your child and teen on a real soundstage to prepare them for TV and film work. This is not theater. We learned a lot from Ms. Linda Seto, the founder of the Dallas YAS about the differences between acting for the stage (far away) and TV/film (hello! camera close ups)  In the three years he's been a student, Aaron has improved his acting skills and has experienced so much personal growth!  The summer camps are a great way to train. They are filling up fast! Think SNL on fast track! At the end of the week, the students are taped in front of a live studio audience.  There is nothing like this in the country...

Kids Summer Activities-Dallas Acting Camp

Kids Summer Activities I'm back today to talk some more about the Summer acting camp that my son will attend. It is being offered by his acting school Dallas Young Actors Studio in Dallas. It is an intense, week-long, acting camp that prepares your actor for the real world of working on a sound stage in front of a live studio audience. They actually tape the TV pilot, and you can be in the audience! How cool is that?  There are several sessions being offered and because it's the only acting camp of its kind it gets filled quickly! You can get more info here: https://www.dallasyas.com/summer-camps/ Aaron taped in last summer's TV Pilot called Welcome to Willowbrook Way. He played a very "misunderstood" character called "Mr. Keller".  You can see some of his scenes on his IG <<click here It's important for young actors to build a resume with actual experience and not just training. At Dallas YAS your young actor will gai...

Following Your Dreams -Summer Activities

My son Aaron is an aspiring actor. He has always wanted to act. As a child, he was constantly telling me he wanted to get his "face out there" and that "he was running out of time". He was 4 years old. I did not know where to take him to get his face out there as he requested. One day we googled kids acting schools dallas. Several websites came up but one in particular caught my eye. It was a story on a local TV channel about Dallas acting schools. The acting school is Dallas Young Actors Studio. This school is run by Linda Seto who has extensive experience in TV and production. Several kids have been discovered at her school and are actively working in Hollywood. If you want to learn more about the school you can go  here. So we went into Dallas and had Aaron audition to be placed in one of the classes. That was in 2017. He has loved every minute spent there! I have seen him grow and his self confidence increase like you wouldn't believe. He has acted in t...

Isn't that what we are all thinking for the summer? I've always been a great believer in supporting our children to explore new things. One of those things can be acting!  I haven't been blogging for a while because life!  But one thing's for sure, we have been busy. My son Aaron is an actor. He has been training at the prestigious Dallas Young Actors Studio in Dallas. And I tell you the growth he has experienced is tremendous. This is no regular acting school. It's real world training in a real studio with a sound stage and real professionals. This is NOT theater.  If you want your child to train to be a real actor for TV and/or film THIS is the place to be.  Dallas Young Actors Studio   offers coaching and training to be a professional actor.  ...
