My New Entry Table And More Chalk Paint

For the longest time, I've been wanting to replace the little curio cabinet I had right by my entry way.
It was cute in the past, but it was way too small for this space.
I looked and looked for just the right piece to put in there but I couldn't find anything. They were either too big, too small or way overpriced!
So I told my hubby about it and he said "I can make you one!"
Hurray!
So I held out my arms and told  him I needed it
to be "this wide, this tall and this deep".
He took out his measuring tape and wrote things down.
Thank goodness he had some extra pine wood in the garage!
So our cost was nothing.
That's the best price right?
So are you ready to see what I have now?
Isn't it cute? I love it!
The wrought iron handles you see there I already had.
I bought them at my favorite antiques store here in town and was just waiting for a place to put them.
This little table is the perfect size for the entry way and now I can display many different things and change them with the seasons. I can't wait to decorate this space for Halloween!
The paint is by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Ochre. And let me tell you painting this baby with that paint did NOT disappoint. It was a breeze.
I gave it a couple of coats and it went on so smooth like buttah!
Let me show you what I had in the space before:
See what I mean? Entirely too small for the space.
But now...

Much better...

I plan to put a pretty basket on this bottom shelf in the future::

But for now it holds some of my favorite things::
My pretty, white bowl
My Goodwill cloche
and a wrought iron Eiffel tower that my little guy
picked up at a second hand store::

my favorite little clock and my paper covered books.
So if you are someone who doesn't have a fireplace mantel to decorate, how about making a nice little entry table like this one?
Or pick one up at a garage sale and transform it with paint.

Here's to reusing, repurposing and recycling.
Oh and don't forget to enter my Annie Sloan book giveaway

Enjoy the weekend my friends,
Patty
