Pictures of Molly

I have always loved dogs. Dogs and I have always had a very strong bond. From the time I begged my mom for a puppy at the age of six (who hasn't huh?) all the way to 2007 when I prayed for a pug. Yes, I prayed to get a pug. I used to have one when I first got married. Sergio bought him for me when I worked at a pet shop in Dallas. He was very expensive but Pugslee and I formed a life long bond. He died shortly after Ellison was born and ever since then I had wanted another one. So one day I was praying for another dog. Yes I pray for everything. I don't make a move without God's approval ;) And in my prayer I asked for a free pug (hey ya gotta be specific) So I was looking through a community website and in one of their forums I saw a post for a free pug!! They were giving this 6 month old pup away because they simply did not have time to play with her since their new baby came along. They had no yard for the pug to run around in. We went by for an interview and we quali...

A Southern Living Christmas-McKinney Home Decor

One of the many things I love about the Holiday season is decorating. Not only decorating my own home but also taking delight in other people's homes and their beautiful decor. This year I decided to incorporate some vintage children's items so my granddaughter could enjoy them. The vintage teddy bear was obtained about 12 years ago in an antique shop. I love the character on his face.   I've kept him in storage for years but now he is finally out and ready to mingle with a certain 16 month old girl. You can see him seated here on a vintage rocking chair waiting for Santa to arrive :) Our pug, Molly, photobombing us!  a close up of the tree and bear. I love the way it looks in black and white too. The stockings hanging from the mantle were made by my mother out of burlap and fabric.  We love them and will treasure them as they will become family heirlooms. I love getting inspired by looking at the many Christmas ...

Spring into Spring {Simple Spring Mantle}

Today is officially Spring! Hurray! No matter that we have been swamped (literally) with rain. Don't worry about the flash flood warnings! Spring showers will bring flowers :) Anywho, since it's that sunny and warm time of the year, I decided to spruce up my mantle some. But first I have to show you this really cool rocker/chair I got at the ORLY last month!!                                                                          L.O.V.E.   I was thinking I was going to recover it but my daughter said she loves the color just as it is. I don't know yet what I am going to do but right now I am loving the spl...

Weekly Click and Chat Social Media Link and Living Room Makeover

Oh Happy Day! Do I feel super accomplished today. And why am I feeling this way, you ask? Well it's nothing more than a project(s) is done. D.O.N.E. It seems like forever and a day that I've been working on the vintage sofa upholstery project AND the ugly coffee table makeover.  I shared that coffee table make over with you before and here's a few pics of the before: I used home made chalk paint to make it over :) Now, drum roll please..... Here's a little looksee at my living room now  The small pillows were made out of a real coffee burlap sac The other pillows are from Target bought on clearance! The ones behind those are made out of drop cloths. I'm still deb ating on whether to stencil something on them or not. Remember the ugly coffee table? I still have to recover the wing chairs (those are slipcovers) in the same color as you see them now. I just have to find some cheap but durable fabric. I am also on t...
