What is Pinterest and Projects to Come

{from my Pinterest "Board"} Maybe you're like me. Maybe not. What is Pinterest I asked? Well I found it can be the most addicting of pastimes around! You need an invite to get in. It's the social network for pinheads! HA! I say that in a nice way. Say you are surfing the net. You find a really cute dress. You try to save that pic to your PC for later. You email the link to yourself. You bookmark that page. With Pinterest you don't have to do that anymore! You see this site is for pinning up on a board anything you fancy! Cool cars, snazzy shoes, birthday party ideas, free printables, crazy crafts you want to make, tutorials, anything your heart desires, you can PIN on Pinterest . Ruffle Tutorial or How to Make Ruffles

happy monday I've gotten some comments on my spring burlap wreath about how to make the ruffles. I'm no seamstress {heck I'm afraid to turn my sewing machine on w/o my mom around} but I'm going to show you how I did it. It's really very simple I started with my burlap (or any other fabric).   cut it into strips {you decide how wide and full you want them}   Take a coordinating thread and needle. Take one end of your strip and put your needle and thread through it. Make sure to tie and knot at the end {extra knots if you're using burlap} The trick is that you want that end of the thread to stay put while you weave your needle and thread through the rest of the fabric. In and out, in and out. You decide how wide the stitch. At the end you cut and hold on to that end. Pull on it to make it ruffle. You decide how tight the ruffles. Make several knots to keep it taught if burlap, one knot for any other fabric. Now you can take your ruffles...

Cabinet Clean Out

You know how you say "I really need to clean out my closet?" Well I asked myself that same question about 4 months ago. So today I STILL didn't do it. But I tell ya what I did- I cleaned out some of my kitchen cabinets!! That's right I said some. I ain't no miracle worker. Plus I'm still semi-disabled and so I do things in slo-mo. It all started with me getting the Louisiana hot sauce I love me some hot sauce. Especially on Doritos. So after rummaging through all the crap I had in there I decided, some of this stuff HAS to be thrown out. And so it began. The project that needed to be done. CABINET CLEAN OUT BEFORE :  Most of this needed to be thrown out! YUCK! More old stuff on top of the MW One of my REALLY disorganized cabs Notice the egg carton filled with EASTER Cascarones! Summer Lovin'

This year since funds are non-existant  scarce we are enjoying the Summer locally. There are so many fun things to do that cost little or nothing. Don't get me wrong, we are planning a couple of day trips/weekend vacays later in the upcoming months but nothing extravagant. The thing is that what I remember most from my childhood summers is the simple things I did with my cousins and family. Like running around under the water spray that my mom held up for us! Mud Skating!  That's right we had a huge ole mulberry tree (at least I think that's what they were, we ate them ;) and it gave a lot of shade. On the one side there was a large indentation in the ground so when my mom watered it, it became a puddle and muddy all around. I found an old hose and we tied it around one branch right over this puddle. We would then take turns holding on to the hose and sliding into the puddle, getting our feet muddy and mud skating!
