Organizing a Small Closet

When we moved in to this new place, we gained an extra bedroom and closet, however, the main closet is teeny tiny! This meant that I had to get REAL creative in organizing that main closet. The Trials of Starting a New Business

I'm no stranger to starting a new business. If you have read my blog long enough you have seen that I ran a successful photography business for more than 13 years. I also ran a successful vintage furniture painting shop for about 5 years.  Now, I have a successful finance consulting firm and just recently expanded my horizons into an online fashion boutique.  For now, it is only online. But gosh, getting the word out sure has been hard, especially in this new world of social media, influencers and brand ambassadors. I tell you, I have been watching Tik Tok lives to see how other business owners do it.  And I may have to bite the bullet and order lots of samples so I can show on lives.  I mean, people want to see the clothes on! EZ No Bake Peanut Butter Candies

Happy Fall  It is finally cooling off here in  North Texas! Phew! Anyway, here is one of my favorite holiday recipes that takes only  minutes to make on the stove top. These peanut butter clusters will be the hit of any holiday gathering. Here are the necessities: Wax paper or non-stick surface Glass or non-stick baking pan  Sauce pan, measuring cups, large spoon/ spatula 1 cup sugar 1 cup light corn syrup 1 1/3 cups creamy peanut butter 4 cups Special K Cereal (original) 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring Directions: Measure out all your ingredients to have them ready (mise en place) and by the stove In a saucepan combine the sugar and light corn syrup on medium-high heat, stirring frequently until mixture starts to bubble Remove from heat Add in the peanut butter and stir until thoroughly mixed Add the vanilla and stir Add the cereal and stir with large spoon until cereal is completely covered with peanut butter mixture. Finding Inspiration in Nature-Cottage Decor

We recently moved into this three bedroom cottage on the outskirts of a northern suburb of Dallas. It has taken us some getting used to as there is a lot of development planned for this area that may be finished within the next year or two (lots of dust). We moved from North Richland Hills where we lived in an urban type development where you live, work and shop in the same area.  I miss it.  I miss walking around the beautiful park like setting and having so many conveniences around. Lots of food options that were not chain restaurants or fast food and we could walk to a beautiful pond with our pooches.  I could also walk to the library, office supply store and major grocery store if I so chose to do.  Here, you have to drive everywhere.  But, we moved here to be closer to our parents and family.  We chose this small cottage with a private little yard so our dogs could have a peaceful place to lounge around without all the city noises and distractions....

DIY Window Treatment-No Sew Roman Shade

Happy Fall y'all Although it feels anything but fallish here in Texas I woke up today feeling crafty! Which is quite the feat since I've been in a rut lately. Anyone else? We recently moved into a new place kind of out in the country. It's been a bit stressful and after a couple of weeks of (mostly) unpacking everything, I finally felt the urge to decorate the kitchen a little. I am going for a nice, clean, botanical look.  I decided to not decorate for fall and leave things clean to give me a better idea on how I wanted the kitchen to set up.   This gave me a blank slate to see what color themes I would like to go with.  I chose a botanical theme with lots of soft greens and black for a nice contrast. The kitchen is already white and I have plenty of framed art, vases and florals/greenery to play with.  I started off with my inspiration - the top of my fridge!
