We recently moved into this three bedroom cottage on the outskirts of a northern suburb of Dallas.
It has taken us some getting used to as there is a lot of development planned for this area that may be finished within the next year or two (lots of dust).
We moved from North Richland Hills where we lived in an urban type development where you live, work and shop in the same area.
I miss it.
I miss walking around the beautiful park like setting and having so many conveniences around. Lots of food options that were not chain restaurants or fast food and we could walk to a beautiful pond with our pooches.
I could also walk to the library, office supply store and major grocery store if I so chose to do.
Here, you have to drive everywhere.
But, we moved here to be closer to our parents and family.
We chose this small cottage with a private little yard so our dogs could have a peaceful place to lounge around without all the city noises and distractions.
Here is our sunrise now
We used to have nice view of the city street we lived in. We lived on the 3rd floor of our building.
However, the commute to see our parents got expensive with all the tolls we had to pay (and if you live in Dallas, you'll know what I am talking about)
Our pup, Rune, really enjoyed looking down at world while sitting on the balcony with me on cool days.

But change is good and we embrace it.
I wanted to incorporate nature into our new space.
All white cabinetry and countertops made me want to go with a clean and bright look.
I used the fake greenery and a large green, glass, vase I had to come up with my new color scheme.
I will go with botanicals with sage green, black, and beige.
Here is the inspiration photo I took once I put these pieces on top of my fridge.
When I looked at this, I really liked the subtle contrast of the tones of green and black with some beige on the pottery against the creamy color of the cabinetry.
I decided to buy a pretty fabric to spark my creativity.
And so we start a new chapter, in a new place, full of promise and ideas. After all, it's now where we are, but the people we are with that makes the difference.
I hope you follow along our journey.
xoxo
