Howdy sweet peeps!
Happy Independence Day!
I'm here to share a quick and yummy dessert I made
just a few hours ago for a 4th of July cookout we are invited to.
How to make a 4th of July Dessert
It is super easy and delish!
Here's what you'll need:
2 packages of crescent rolls
2 packages of 8 oz. cream cheese
chocolate chips
1/2 c sugar
2 bananas
1 lime/lemon
1 pint of strawberries
1 pint of blueberries
whipped topping/cream
9x12 glass pan
In the meantime, I washed all the fruit and sliced them. I used this handy little gadget to slice the strawberries.
I put some lime juice on a plate and I sliced my bananas on the plate. Then I squeezed some more of the lime juice on them to keep them from turning brown :)
After the crescent rolls were done, I let them cool a little them used a large spatula to gently move them to my glass pan. I had my cream cheese sitting on my counter until it was soft and them added some sugar to it (to taste) and mixed it up well with my spatula. It should have the consistency of frosting. I spread it on my first crust and then I piped some of the whipped cream all around the edges and added the fruit.
This is the first layer.
Then you put on the next crust and do the same. Frosting it with the rest of the cream cheese and adding the fruit to resemble a flag :)
I added bananas only to the bottom half of the top layer because one of my boys is allergic to them. This way he can just get a slice where there are no bananas.
And there you have it. Super, duper, easy and delish.
Store it covered with another glass pan in the fridge until ready to serve.
What's fun about this, is that when my kids were younger they loved helping to decorate it.
:D
