Popcorn, Books and Sweltering Heat

Today is a hot day. Again. Summers in Texas are practically unbearable. The heat and humidity keep most people inside. This morning I woke up early and did some grocery shopping. I was there at around 9 a.m. when people are still asleep. I hate shopping. For anything. But I have planned it this way now, I wake up early do a little grocery shopping, do some laundry then some activities with the kids. Today I took the boys downtown to the library and to the Mom and Popcorn store. That place is awesome. They have many different flavors of popcorn. We got the snack size white cheddar and the salsa verde. After that we headed over to the library. Aaron got some videos of hurricanes. He is very into the weather. He also got a book on the Earth. He loves to read about volcanoes and natural disasters and how they come to be.
On the drive home, we stopped at the 7-11 and got some slurpees.

Hmmm...Aaron didn't seem enticed by all the colorful sugary confections

We finished off the day by rearranging (again) our study and buying a little computer stand for Josh. We all share the study. We don't let the kids have TV's or Computers in their rooms.

So it's the main/business computer, the kid's PC and the laptop all in one room!

Also, there is one question I have, where does all this useless paperwork come from? It seems we get more and more junk to throw away or recycle every month!

I guess I'll continue my rearranging tomorrow (sigh)

But it was a good fun day!

  1. I love that store... thanks for the great idea. I need to take Colton down there.

Our goal is to hopefully clean out out extra stuff this week and rearrange too, but it sounded like your day was a lot funner than rearranging.
