BIZ IS THE STAIN FIGHTER-LAUNDRY TIPS

This is a sponsored post As you may already know, I am a photographer on my off days.  I do a lot of family photography and this often involves small children, which many times requires me to kneel down on gravel, grass, etc. Needless to say my jeans take quite a beating. (Thank goodness for the torn jeans craze right?) To get those tough stains out, I just put a little bit of Biz stain fighter on the grass stain, rub it in a bit, and let it soak for about 5-10 minutes. I then run it through the wash with Biz as the detergent and voila!  The stain is gone! I recently had to do this with a favorite t shirt I splattered with spaghetti sauce. AGH! I hadn't realized it until I got home and I thought for sure the shirt was ruined.  Nope, I did the same thing, dab, rub, sit and wash it as usual. T shirt is as good as new. Now you know that those greasy stains are harder to get out. With Biz stain fighter detergent it's as easy as 1-2-3. I highly...

Entry Bench Transformation with Milk Paint

Hello friends: It's been awhile :) I've been so busy with life and work. Well you know how that goes. I have been meaning to share with y'all this really cute project I finished, way back in the Spring. Yikes. I wanted to put a cute little bench of some sort right outside our front door of the apartment. It's not the brightest spot but I thought I could liven it up a bit with something.  I got this little bench on one of the Facebook garage sales.  Then the good folks from The Real Milk Paint Company graciously offered me a couple of samples! Yay! I knew I wanted a fun color so I picked the gorgeous Beach Glass.  It's a pretty blue that would add a nice punch of color to my drab entry.  Milk paint is a really good paint to use for those projects where you want a nice distressed look or you can do several coats to make it look more "polished". The choice is yours. Plus because it's milk paint it doesn't have that awful paint smell or ...

Nothing a little sanding couldn't fix.  So I sanded it do...

He's Flying the Coop! Sending a Kid Off To College

Y'all I'm a mess right now! My sweet son, whom I usually refer to as "the big guy" has grown up. He is going off to college in a few short weeks. Granted he's not going THAT far, but still.  And I know that many of you moms out there have sent your precious children off to the military, missions and so forth so this may not seem like a big deal, but it is. My son is in the autistic spectrum. We have raised him to be a self sufficient, responsible and respectful young man. So far so good.  I still do worry about him living away from us on campus.  We can visit him any time as he's only a half hour away! (I know, I know!) We want him to live on his own so he can be fully ready to spread his wings when he finishes his undergrad. I don't know how a mother prepares for this. You just can't.  He was just a four year old boy yesterday playing with dinosaurs and memorizing every single detail of their existence and extinction.  Then he t...
