Easy Peasy Felt Valentine's Garland

If there is anything that chases away the blues for me is crafting. Granted, lately I've not had the creative juices flowing like I used to. This is why I have to practically force myself to do something crafty. And tonight I was on a roll. I had bought a few pieces of red felt the other day hoping to do something Valentiney. And after I sat down with it and my pinking shears this is what I came up with:

Red Felt Valentine's Bunting

I never know what to call these things: bunting, garland, banners, oh who cares! They're so much fun.
Here's what you'll need:

Several rectangles of felt (any color) I think I used 5.
Pinking Shears
Scissors
ribbon in coordinating color or red raffia (this is what I had on hand)

If you know me, I try to use and recycle anything I have on hand.
First you will take your rectangle felt and fold in half. Trim the sides with pinking shears.

Next cut the folded felt into strips about 1 inch wide. Continue with rest of felt.

Now, pinch the top about 1 inch down, and tie some coordinating ribbon around it. Continue until you finish them all. Trim the ends of the ribbon you used to tie the felt to make them look neater.

Take a long piece of red ribbon and string it through the loops you made from the felt strips.
Hang your new creation on your mantle, in a nursery, your kid's room-anywhere you want to add a bit of color.

I hung mine across this old window I plan on using as a room divider. {That post is coming soon}

I'll be back a bit later to show you how I am recycling and reusing some of my left over Christmas popcorn tins!

Enjoy this day like it's your last :)

XOXO
