Summer's Here! {Almost}

It seems like I've spent most of Spring cooped up inside either in the hospital or in my bedroom. A couple of nights ago I actually felt well enough to craft this cute bunting/banner. I know it's almost summer, but around here things are still blooming. Hence this little project I whipped up: I designed it on my Gypsy and cut it with my Cricut. But you don't have to own these machines to make it :) Here's what you'll need: Tie the Knot Cartridge-Cricut Scallop shape 10 inches-qty 5 Alphalicious Cartridge "Bloom" phrase 3 inches both in shadow and short stack features Potpourri Basket Tree shape -shadow 10 inches -qty 5 3 small lunch sacs Ribbon Twine embellishments hole punch glue gun scissors   The only color I had was blue cardstock so I went with it. Playing with my new toy and saying no to being toothless!

For the past few weeks I have been playing with my new toy! The Cricut Expression! I have been wanting one of these die cutting machines for a very long time. Finally my wish came true and Sergio bought me one as an early birthday present. Happy Birthday to me! The first thing I did was make some cute cards for a couple of people I visit teach. Then I made a Happy Birthday banner that we can use over and over. In this case, I will use it for Aaron's birthday party in a couple of weeks. I am planning on making his invitations with it too. I totally love it! You can cut vinyl too and I am planning on making some vinyl phrases to put on the walls and also to etch on some glass plates. Nothing like having some fun with a new toy, huh? Next update: I went to my gastroenterologist on Monday because I've been feeling kinda blah lately and I have been putting on some weight really, really fast. Which is totally unlike me. So I suspect it's my liver acting up again. He gave me a new...

Out of work and outta my mind!

Ok, so it has been .....hmmmm...about 2 months since I stopped working at a "real" job. The first month was all about relaxing and enjoying the holidays (yeah right, more like cleaning non-stop) and spending time with my grandma. So then in January I told myself I would be really busy.....(crickets chirping) but it ain't happening. I thought I would enjoy working from home, but right now I am really bored. My day mostly consists of marketing my business to small cities and counties in Texas. I have to get my foot in the door first. Sergio tells me not to give up. I just started. I also do bookkeeping and am thinking of going for my masters in accounting. But that takes money, lots of it. So, for now, I will keep on plugging my company. I guess I did enjoy the "rat race" after all. So, I decided to get back into my decorating business as a side thing. I was very successful as a designer for Home Interiors back in 2000. So I heard they got bought out by another ...
