Royal Caribbean Cruise-Best Time Ever

Family Vacation Ideas

For the loooongest time, I've been wanting to go on a cruise. But I hesitated because I thought it would be boring while on the ship, that we wouldn't have enough time at the ports, that I'd get deathly ill, that my kids would get deathly ill, you get the picture.

Hoh, boy, oh boy, was I wrong!

We had the absolute best time.
Here's the low down on the cruise from a total newby.
First, we arrived in Galveston a day before we sailed. I wanted to make sure we wouldn't be rushing and I wanted to check in with plenty of time. Sort of like when you check in at the airport. You want to be there early. I'll get into the packing list on another post, but bring plenty of sunblock and lotion to put on sunburns. Yikes.
So we traveled with our two boys ages 14 and 19, which made it much easier than traveling with little kids. But let me tell you there were plenty of (brave) parents on the ship with little babies and toddlers. So you can bring them if you want and they have some great activities for them while you enjoy some adult time.
We sailed on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas. What a beautiful ship! Take a look.

We chose an upper deck, 9 to be exact and we were towards the front of the ship. We had an interior cabin with no windows. It's cheaper and the 4 of us fit very well. It was pitch black at night, and let me tell you it was THE.BEST.NIGHT'S. SLEEP. EVER.
At first, I was worried that we would be squeezed too tight in that small cabin but I was wrong. Here's what it looked like.

Those beds pull down from the ceiling. The crew set those up for us and turned down our beds every single night.
We had the best food, the best customer service and we didn't get sick once! We were so pleased that we booked another cruise for next year, but this time just the hubby and I.
Here are some pics of the ports we stopped at.

Our ship sailed out of Galveston, Texas and stopped at Cozumel, Grand Cayman Island and Jamaica. I thought the most beautiful beach was the Red Stripe beach in Jamaica. Our cruise was 7 days long.

So if you are thinking of maybe, probably, going on a cruise, just do it. You will not regret it.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Until next time,

xoxo
Patty
