Staying in Love :)

Lately Sergio and I are obsessed with this show
It's a show on TLC and we are soooo in like with this couple. They are so sweet to each other and he's the funny one and she's the indecisive driven one. They kinda remind us of....well. US!

Sergio and I were talking the other day, during a commercial break, why it's SO important to stay in love with your partner. So many people say they fall out of love after just a few years and they get a divorce.
While sometimes divorce is inevitable it is not the only solution. Sergio and I met when I was 15 years old and he was 18. We were both in high school. He says he knew immediately that I was "the one". With me it took a little longer. I think that it's because of Sergio that we are still together. He says that it's because of both of us-we are a team.
So even after three kids, one college bound in the fall, one tween, and one 2nd grader, we still take time to spend together. We go out on a date every week. Even if it's just a quick drive to the Sonic to get a drink :)
Or we go in the middle of the week to get our favorite Vietnamese Noodles (YUM)
I guess we're lucky in that we can leave our littlest one in the care of his older brother for just a tad or his older sister. But seriously, just because you have a baby you don't have to lose your identity!
It's important that you, stay YOU and he stays HIM :)
Take the time to go on weekend getaways, spend some time alone after the kids go to sleep. And best of all LAUGH!! I swear Sergio cracks me up all the time! I think he is the funniest guy on the planet and he thinks I am the most beautiful girl :)
Yes I am still a girl to him and I still refer to him as my boyfriend, since he never really broke up with me before we got married LOL

He STILL gives me butterflies in my tummy!

So anyway, I recommend you watch this show. They are SO cute!! And watch it with your hubby :)
Or better yet go out and get some Chinese, put the kids to bed and watch this show!!
And NO I am not getting paid for this post! I just love this show so much and I admire a TV show where they promote positive marriage values and not the trash that is otherwise on every channel.
Happy TV watching :)

  1. This is such a sweet post! Thank you for sharing. This last weekend Justin and I enjoyed a quick date walking around dowtown McKinney. It was great and we can't wait to do it again!

I love your comments and read all of them! I respond to each one of them too!
